The eight texts in this book were not created at once, but over the course of three years. They were written on different occasions, and some of them were previously published in several magazines. In this book, they have been revised and organized into four themes. The first topic intends to save artistic personalities/identities from oblivion, the second refers to the interpretation of two ballet productions, the third to two theater performances. The last two texts derive from the personal, artistic consideration of the performing arts in empira.
It is usual for such books to have a pre-selected readership – the one that deals with the performing arts on the other side of art, which serves interpretive, theatrical practices, but also the audience that participates in the creation itself, in the ephemerality of the artistic act. It is usual for such books to be wrapped in an abstract (scientific, theoretical) discourse – as much as this rigidity sometimes interferes with art as such. I hope that both commonplaces will be met with the effect of disappointed expectation with this book.
Such books are necessary because they are notebooks of continuity. After the performances, after the artists, after the sensations - only the words that will be written about them remain, if someone at all takes a part of his time to deal with interpretation, with analysis, which is always more than necessary - how meritorious to crystallize the meaning. It is necessary to deal with our own time and at least try to interpret the artistic facts that have been created in our time, the meanings that touch us personally.
I believe that in this way we will understand a part of ourselves better.
